As I move forward in studying Public Relations, I was asked the question, "What website creation platform do you plan on using?" As I began thinking about the website creation platform options I had to choose from, I wanted to research and compare Wix.com andWordpress.com. When looking into Wix, some of my favorite features included how easy it was for me to navigate, the 500+ different templates they offer, the option to start from scratch, 100+ fonts, the option to upload your own font, animation, advanced web applications, custom domain name, and analytics. Wix.com can be up to $11-22 monthly depending on what you are hoping to get out of it. They offer a website, web app, and owner app to access the platform. As mentioned before, Wix was very easy to use and navigate. They have a very simplistic layout and the directions are easy to find. I chose to compare Wix and WordPress. WordPress includes different features such as a free domain name, a free SSL certificate, automatic WordPress installation, expert support, and multiple themes. WordPress highlighted their costs in different places throughout their website, implying you will most likely need to pay for something to get started with this platform. The costs, however, are a great deal (ranging between $2.95-$5.45/month). WordPress offers the option to create and manage your website through their own website, or through the comfort of an app. I decided that Wix.com is what I am looking for moving forward in website creation. I love am more familiar with this website, and believe it offers more. Wix was easier for me to navigate and I found many more templates, themes, photos, and fonts so I can make my website up to the highest standard I want and bring my vision to life. I love how Wix encourages and ensures that your personal interests can be brought into website creation.

Another question I was asked is, "What content creation platform do you plan on using?" When researching different content creation opportunities, I came across Canva.com and Unsplash.com. I was drawn to both of these websites for their trendy, aesthetic, and simple cover pages. Looking at Unsplash, they highlight top topics being searched, support multiple languages, include wallpapers, and have a photo gallery of other users photos right when you log on so you can see how other people are using this platform. Unsplash offers a website and app to its users to get the best experience you can. It is free to get started, and very easy to navigate. Unsplash did a great job of color coding the different headings and titles around the page so they can easily be found. The other content creation website I looked at was Canva. Canva was instantly extremely easy to use, I did not run into any struggles, and they highlight all they offer. Canva has 250,000+ free templates, 1+million photos/graphics, 5GB storage, and you are able to invite collaborators to work with you. You are able to access Canva through their app or website, whether you are a pro member or not. If you are looking at becoming a pro member, (all features listed out very specifically), you will be charged $119.99 a year. When it came down to making a decision, I felt like Canva was the definitive choice of best option for me to use. I love how many different templates Canva offers to its users. The templates included are always updated with new, unique, creative, and trendy ones that you can use for business, events, professionalism, personal, or even fun!
